Before the feature length film Grinaga by BC’s own Marny Eng and E.J. Foerster, Join us for a lively informal discussion with a panel of experts as they discuss the art of filmmaking. From 6:30-7:30pm, Screening begins at 8pm.
Michael Bruce Adams, Moderator/Screenwriter
Michael Bruce Adams is a produced writer with over 25 years of film and television production experience. Michael has written 37 feature film and television scripts and is a Script Consultant for feature films, documentaries and television series with clients in Canada, the US, China, Malaysia, Ghana, England and Spain.
Ruby J. Munro, Director
Ruby J. Munro, has been involved in the film industry in Canada and abroad for over 25 years. She developed her skills as a filmmaker working as a Script Supervisor on Features (Blade Trinity, Diary of Wimpy Kid) and Season Series (The Killing, The Magicians, Upload). Her knowledge of production, her love of collaboration and working intimately with actors are just some of her strengths. She prides herself on leadership and commitment while creating strong, positive work environments. Ruby is also actively developing stories for the screen and passionately looking forward to continuing to direct stories for all genres and platforms.
Terry Ingram, Director
(Canadian/BC) Terry Ingram is a highly respected director with over 30 years experience in the industry. After years as a theatrical Stage Manager and AD, Terry crossed over to film and television as a director. He has since directed over 50 episodes of series television for almost every network in the US and Canada and 50 plus television movies, and his work has taken him from Canada to Spain, the US and South Africa.
Janet Kidder, Actor
Hailing from the UK, Janet Kidder moved to Canada in the late 1990’s where she attended UBC fine arts programme followed by the coveted Studio 58 Theatre Arts programme at Langara College. After college Janet embarked on a strong and diverse career in film, theatre and television that now spans over 3 decades. Her numerous credits include a role on Fargo, CBS All Access Star Trek Discovery, Amazon’s The Man In The High Castle, and Limetown, starring opposite Stanley Tucci and Jessica Biel. Nominated for best actress in a leading dramatic role for her role in the CBC’c series Tom Stone, Janet’s credits are many and very diverse, although she seems to have a penchant for playing the bad guy…
She is very excited about the highly anticipated release of the dramatic mini series Little Bird, coming to Crave this spring. This historical drama is a must see, winning awards at recent film festivals.
Fred Thorsen, Editor
Fredrik Thorsen is a writer, director, and editor. His first film, Wake Linda, a half-hour drama, won 1muerous awards at international film festivals, including; the Palme d'Or (Grande Prize) at Huy World Festival of Short Films in Belgium, and the Best Fiction Film (short film category) at the Montreal World Film Festival. As an editor he as worked on feature films, television pilots, and feature length documentaries winning the Leo Award for Best Editing on a Feature Length Drama for Stone Of Destiny, director Charles Martin Smith.
Since 2009, Fredrik Thorsen has used his success as a filmmaker and editor to inspire hundreds of vulnerable youth in the downtown Eastside as key instructor at a non-profit charitable organization founded by the late William Vince, an Oscar-nominated Vancouver filmmaker and advocate for youth at risk.
Patric Caird, Composer
Patric has been performing, composing and producing music his whole life.
He has created award winning work in all genres - from animation to feature film and series television both in Canada and the US. Passionate about music and collaboration he is eager to explore fresh possibilities and bring the highest level of professionalism to everything he does.

Gringa 8pm at Sid Williams Theatre
A troubled teenage girl runs away to Mexico to find the father she has never known. Together they learn that a family can be put back together, even if all they have are the missing pieces.
Directed by BC’s own Marny Eng (orginally from Vancouver Island) and E.J. Foerster, with Cinematographer Pete Wilke who is from Vancouver,BC. Gringa was shot entirely on location in Mexico for 26 days.
